    NWSC Code of Conduct

    Northwest Swim Circuit Code of Conduct

    The Northwest Swim Circuit was formed with the objective of helping young swimmers to develop: physical fitness, self discipline, self confidence, proficiency in competitive swimming strokes, a determination to do one’s best and good sportsmanship. The expectation of the Executive Board is participants will exhibit the highest standards of sportsmanship at all times while participating in all NWSC and member club affiliated events. Every participant, including swimmers, coaches, officials, board members, parents and spectators, has a responsibility to behave in a respectable manner and to comply with and support the Code of Conduct.

    While attending and/or participating in any NWSC or member club affiliated practice or event, no individual shall:

    • At any time strike, shove, threaten to strike or lay a hand upon an official, swimmer, coach or spectator.
    • Engage in an abusive, verbal attack upon any official, swimmer, coach or spectator on or off the pool area.
    • Use trash talk, profane, obscene or vulgar language, or gesture under any circumstances, on or off the pool area.
    • Engage in an objectionable demonstration of dissent or unsportsmanlike conduct such as throwing equipment or any other forceful action.
    • Refuse to abide by an officials decision

    Any violation of the above policy will result in the following action at the discretion of the Home Meet Director:

    First Offense– Ejection of the person(s) from the meet/event by the Meet Director

    Second Offense– Suspension of the person(s) from any and all meets or events for the remainder of the current swim season

    If this individual is acting in the capacity of a coach or meet official at the time of the offense then the additional sanctions will be as follows:

    First Offense– Ejection of the person(s) from the meet/event by the Meet Director

    Second Offense – Suspension of the person(s) from participating in an official capacity at any and all NWSC sanctioned events for the total of one full swim season (one calendar year from the date).

    Third Offense– Suspension of the person(s) from participating in an official capacity at any and all NWSC sanctioned events for life.

    *Any violation will be reported in writing to the vice president of the NWSC Executive Board either by electronic or traditional mail prior to the next NWSC sanctioned event or within 30 days of infraction if occurrence is at the last sanctioned event for the swim season.

    NWSC Code of Conduct 2025

    Northwest Swim Circuit Code of Conduct The Northwest Swim Circuit (NWSC) strives to develop young swimmers through fitness, discipline, confidence, and sportsmanship. This Code of Conduct ensures a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for all participants, including swimmers, coaches, officials, board members, volunteers, guests and spectators. 

    Standards of Conduct 

    The NWSC values sportsmanship poolside and beyond. We aim to provide a safe, supportive environment for all swimmers, coaches, volunteers and officials, as well as an enjoyable atmosphere for all families and spectators. Anyone creating an unsafe environment or interfering with the meet will be asked to leave the event immediately. 

    Encouraged Behaviors 

    Participants should exhibit: 

    • Sportsmanship: Honor the spirit of competition by encouraging teammates and competitors alike. 
    • Respect: Treat everyone with dignity, whether from the home team or opposing teams. 
    • Inclusivity: Make everyone feel welcomed and valued. 

    Prohibited Behaviors 

    Participants must avoid: 

    • Unsportsmanlike conduct: Insults, taunts, aggressive gestures, arguments, or other disruptive behaviors. 
    • Violent altercations: Physical aggression, pushing, hitting, slapping, fighting, or inappropriate horseplay. 
    • Sexual misconduct: Inappropriate touch, gestures, sexual advances, nudity, or use of pornography. 
    • Disorderly behavior: Foul, sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, obscene, or abusive language or gestures. 
    • Bullying and harassment: Disrespectful or intimidating behavior, in any form, is strictly prohibited. 
    • Non-Compliance: Participants must respect and comply with official decisions without argument. 

    Reporting and Accountability 

    If a participant observes or experiences behavior that violates this code, they should report it immediately to the Meet Director or other authority. Escalating or retaliatory behavior is also considered a violation and failure to comply. 

    Penalties for Violations 

    • • Minor: 
      • Verbal warning by the Meet Director or authority. 
    • • Major or Repeat: 
      • Penalties may include warning, ejection from the event, or ejection from the meet, as determined by the Meet Director or authority. 
    • • Severe: 
      • Immediate ejection and potential review by the NWSC Board, which may lead to suspension or a ban of the individual or the entire family from future participation in NWSC teams and events. 

    Review and Appeals Process for Violations 

    All violations will be subject to review by the NWSC Board under the investigative authority of the Vice President. Participants have the right to appeal decisions by submitting a formal written request via their NWSC Representative within 72 hours of the infraction.

    Rules and Conditions

    Please carefully read all information below before proceeding with registration.

    Swimmer Evaluation Period
    I understand that swimmers need to be able to swim the length of the pool independently at this time, or they will be removed from the team at the coach's discretion. The purpose of this is to ensure that swimmers have basic swim skills and are comfortable enough in the water to have a successful swim season.

    Registration fees minus a $20 processing/admin fee per swimmer will be returned to swimmers who are removed from the team due to the inability to fulfill this swim requirement. Team suits and all merch are non-refundable.

    Mandatory Equipment
    I understand that each swimmer will be required to purchase the required team suit and cap.  Swimmers are required to wear their team suit and swim cap during meets. Tech Suits are not allowed during Swim Meet competitions.

    During practice each swimmer must come prepared with a swimsuit of their choice (not their team suit), swim cap, fins, goggles and a towel.

    Refund Policy

    Voluntary withdrawal via email sent to [email protected] by April 13 at 11:59pm will result in a refund of registration fees minus a $20 per swimmer processing/admin fee.*

    Voluntary withdrawal via email sent to [email protected] between April 14 and May 4 at 11:59pm will result in a 50% refund of registration fees.* 

    Withdrawal requests submitted on or after May 5th will not qualify for a refund.*

    * Team suits and all merch are non- refundable in all cases.

    Invitational Swim Meet Requirement

    Swimmers who qualify for the Invitational swim meet held at the end of the season are required to swim at the Divisional swim meet. Any swimmer who does not show up for the Divisional Meet will be scratched from the Invitational meet. Any exceptions require approval by the Head Coach.

    City of Pflugerville Code of Conduct for Participants, Parents, and Spectators

    The Team is responsible for ensuring that all parents, participants, and spectators are aware of and acknowledge the expected standards of behavior outlined in this section. The Team may distribute the Code of Conduct to all parties.

    Respect for City Staff: Parents, participants, and families are expected to treat all City staff—including lifeguards, pool managers, and other City employees—with respect. Disrespectful behavior, verbal abuse, or interference with staff duties will not be tolerated. 
    Behavior Towards Facility Staff: Parents and families should respect the City’s lifeguards and pool managers while they are performing their duties. Lifeguards and pool managers must be allowed to perform their duties without disruption. 
    Public Pool Conduct: All participants, families, and spectators are expected to follow standard public pool rules. Disruptive behavior, such as loud arguments, inappropriate language, or actions disturbing other patrons, will not be tolerated. Inappropriate or indecent behavior (including fighting, public intoxication, or harassment) will result in individuals being asked to leave the premises. 
    Safety and Deck Behavior: Non-swimmers should remain in designated spectator areas and should not disrupt the activities on the pool deck. The City reserves the right to address safety concerns involving individuals on the deck and may request that non-participating individuals step outside the designated team area. 
    Supervision of Children: Parents are responsible for supervising children when not participating in swim practice or meets. Children must remain in designated areas and follow facility rules. 
    Respect for City Property: All participants and spectators must respect City property, including pool equipment, furnishings, and other City-owned items. Damage may result in charges for repair or replacement. 
    Non-Interference with Pool Operations: Parents and families must not interfere with the ongoing activities at the pool. Communication should be directed through appropriate channels, the Piranhas board members.

    Volunteer Agreement

    EVERY FAMILY IS REQUIRED TO VOLUNTEER AT EVERY SWIM MEET THEIR SWIMMER IS ATTENDING. I UNDERSTAND THAT FAILURE TO SIGN UP FOR AND FULFILL MY VOLUNTEER POSITION WILL RESULT IN MY CHILD(REN) NOT BEING ENTERED INTO THE MEET AND/OR BEING SCRATCHED FROM REMAINING EVENTS AT THE MEET ITSELF.

    Photo Release Form

    I grant to the Pflugerville Piranhas Swim Team, the right to take photographs of me and my family in connection with the 2025 swim season. I authorize the Pflugerville Piranhas Swim Team, its assigns and transferees to copyright, use and publish the same in print and/or electronically.

    I agree that the Pflugerville Piranhas Swim Team may use such photographs of me with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and Web content.

    Medical and Liability Waivers

    Medical Release

    I certify that I am the legal guardian or parent of the named swimmer(s), and give my permission and approval for participation for the above mentioned child/children, in any and all activities sponsored by the Pflugerville Piranhas Swim Team. I hearby release the NWSC, Pflugerville Piranhas Swim Team, the City of Pflugerville, Coach, Assistant Coaches, Board Officers, officials, participants and parents from any claim arising out of ACCIDENTAL injury to my child/children while participating in any and all activities related to the 2025 Pflugerville Piranha swim season.

    I know of no impairment of deficiency, physical health or otherwise, that would limit or prohibit my child/children from participating in practice swim sessions and competing with other children. I agree to advise and make known to the Pflugerville Piranhas Swim Team and coaching staff any change in the physical health or any other condition that would limit or prohibit my child/children from participating in practice swim sessions and competitive swim meets.

    Liability Waiver

    By registering my child(ren) with the Pflugerville Piranhas, I agree to participate (or allow my child(ren) and family members to participate) in the Pflugerville Piranhas, and hereby release Pflugerville Piranhas, it's directors, officers, agents, coaches, and employees from liability for any injury that might occur to myself (or to my child(ren) and family members) while participating in the Pflugerville Piranhas program, including travel to and from training sessions, swim meets or other scheduled team activities.

    I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the above mentioned organizations and/or individuals, their agents and/or employees, against any and all liability for personal injury, including injuries resulting in death to me, my child(ren) and/or other family members, or damage to my property, the property to my child(ren) and/or other family members, or both, while I (or my child(ren) or family members) are participating in the Pflugerville Piranhas program.
